About Me

My name is Jennifer H Perez. I attended the University of North Florida, majoring in Communications before obtaining my Interior Design degree at Florida Community College of Jacksonville.

I spent my first few years as a designer working for Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Inc. where I was able to fully incompass the meaning of being a designer. I specified clients homes from the ground up including all of their hard and soft finishes.

In January of 2008, I moved my practice over to R. Ward Lariscy, Inc where I am currently practicing residential design.

I am an active member of ASID, through which I have helped plan the annual Student day event that took place at DCOTA in Dania, Fl and am currently heading up the board for the Step Workshop, which helps prepare designer for their state licensing exam.

I also currently hold a seat on the Interior Design Advisory Board for FSCJ and The Art Institute of Jacksonville.

Think Custom

When I was searching for furniture to pull together an art deco feel for the 2009 showhouse, I had a difficult time finding bedside pieces that had a glamorous look and feel without exceeding my budget. What I did instead, was find a nightstand that I liked and had it customized into a beautiful period piece. I added the gold trim; crystal knobs; and I had a reclaimed bathroom vanity in honey oynx cut down to size for the top. In the end it was the perfect piece for the space.

The bed was another piece in the room that I customized to create a look. I found this bed through one of our vendors at R. Ward Larsicy, Inc. I loved the shape of the head and footboards and I especially loved the double canopy but otherwise the bed was too hard and cold for my space. But, with a vision in mind I ordered the bed anyway. I sent it to my upholsterer where I had him add the fabric panels to the head and footboards. With the fabric and my sketches in hand, he was able to create this beautiful bed that added a lot of warmth and grandeur to the space.
